'Destiny: The Taken King' Update: Find Out the Mystery About Oryx's Basketball Court Secret Room
"Destiny: The Taken King" may have been the game that tests your search factor, but this time around, it is showing something more of a challenge to those who have honed their skills in finding loots.
According to GameSpot, the developer of the game, Bungie revealed that there is really nothing to scavenge in the secret room.
In fact, game designer Luke Smith said on Twitter, "Oryx's Basketball Court is a fun Easter Egg the team put together. It's just a place to dunk like your neighbors 8 ft. rim. No loot to find."
There you have it. The developer himself confirmed that any effort to find any loot in the secret room is bound to fail.
Kotaku, on the other hand, revealed so many details about the challenge in order to reach and explore the secret room. In fact, players went through a lot just to reach the secret room.
Players used up all their talent in experimenting the game's riddles just to get to the room, and, indeed, there were ways to penetrate it.
Hidden switches were the challenge, and every time you dodge one, you come nearer to that secret room. Once inside the room, as interesting as it may seem, there are no rewards and no loot to take with you, just a bunch of things that make the place more of a relic than a conquered quest.
If it doesn't give you a loot collection and will not reward you with anything useful, what is it really for?
Kotaku revealed that inside the secret room are some challenges that allow a player to play basketball. No, not the conventional one, but with the use of a relic and a statue, and every dunk made will light up a rune. A combined six runes will give a player the "Overcharged" reward, with no clear revelation on how to use it or if it will ever be useful.
What if there is a special purpose for the secret room? What if the runes have significant role in the game? Luke Smith reassures you that the secret room is just what it is. Players can come in to relax and just play the game, come out without a loot but with pride because they have conquered a very hard challenge. Kotaku also said that "it's possible that we weren't meant to discover this secret room and it won't actually do anything until we get access to the hard-mode."
