It's only week four of "Dancing with the Stars" season 21, and the goodbyes are already getting more and more difficult. This week's fan favorite exit followed the contestant's most sentimental and nostalgic performances, making the latest episode the most emotional of the season yet.

The night's theme was "Most Memorable Night," but for one pair, the episode was one they'd likely want to forget as news came of their elimination.

Renowned comedian Gary Busey said goodbye to "Dancing with the Stars" in last night's episode, as he and pro partner Anna Trebunskaya was cut from the competition. After his elimination was announced by Erin Andrews and Alfonso Ribeiro, the star showed he had no hard feelings with a heartfelt and grateful speech.

"[In] 45 years of doing show business, I never expected this and it's been a beautiful experience because with Anna, 'From Russia with Love,' I learned things I had in myself that I could emphasize... and be better with and from and in," Busey said, according to Access Hollywood.

The funny man's exit, while sad, was not so surprising after Busey and Trebunskaya failed to keep up with the more polished performances of other contestants in the past four weeks of the competition.

In the latest episode, another couple struggled to find their footing on the dance floor. Television chef Paula Deen failed to wow the judges with partner Louis Van Amstel, earning 18 points, which is one of the lowest scores of the night next to Busey's.

The performance of the night undoubtedly belonged to Bindi Irwin and pro partner Derek Hough. The pair put on a moving contemporary routine dedicated to Irwin's late father Steve Irwin, who died in 2006. The beautiful dance, set to "Every Breath You Take," moved everyone in tears, earning Irwin and Hough 28 points from the judges, with the season's first perfect 10 from Bruno Tonioli.

Another emotional dance was performed by Alek Skarlatos, who paid tribute to his alma mater Umpqua Community College in Oregon where the mass shooting happened last week. The paso doble that he danced with partner Lindsay Arnold showed off his more serious side and was "strong and sturdy," said judge Carrie Ann Inaba, although the pair only garnered 24 points.

Other highlights were a selection of couples who all scored one point lower than top performer Irwin with 27 points: Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy with the rumba, Hayes Grier and Emma Slater with a contemporary dance as well as Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess with a jazz number set to Backstreet Boys' "Everybody."

The former Backstreet Boys member excited the audience with his song choice, but revealed a more emotional reason to his pick, saying that he escaped a dysfunctional family by joining a boy band, Variety reported. Carter explained, "The boys saved me - they loved and treated me like a true brother."
