Battlefield 4 vs. Call of Duty Ghosts Gameplay and Updates: Naval Strike Expansion Introduced, Call of Duty Free Multiplayer Weekend
New details have come emerged about the third Battlefield 4 expansion pack, Naval Strike.
CVG reports that the expansion, the third of five promised for the season pass, will be coming sometime in late March. It will feature four new maps based in the South China Sea. It will also add a brand new hovercraft vehicle, five new weapons, 10 assignments and the all-new Career Assault mode, which is said to be a reimaging of Battlefield 2142's Titan mode.
While Premium players will get to enjoy these new perks this month, others will have to wait two weeks later.
In addition to new content, DICE has also acknowledged some of the recurrent problems players have been facing in the game. They released a statement promising to address the issues:
"We at DICE are committed to improving the overall Battlefield 4 multiplayer experience for our players. Some issues, commonly referenced in conjunction to 'netcod'" are preventing Battlefield 4 from performing optimally for everyone, and with this post we would like to explain what we are doing to address these problems."
Some of the issues they are looking into include rubber banding, kill camera delay and player death sync, tickrate, instant death while sprinting and damage registering. The company has also already released a patch containing crash fixes and weapon tweaks.
Meanwhile, Battlefield's fellow action FPS and rival, Call of Duty: Ghosts, is planning to host its first free multiplayer demo on Friday, March 7. The demo will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until Monday.
Polygon reports that players can expect three multiplayer maps: the demo will consist of three multiplayer maps, Strikezone, Warhawk and Prison Break, in addition to three competitive multiplayer modes, Search and Rescue, Domination and Team Deathmatch, and finally a cooperative Extinction mode, Point of Contact.
