‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Premiere News: Norman Reedus Talks Daryl and Carol
Season 6 of "The Walking Dead" is about to premiere on AMC Sunday night and star Norman Reedus gave fans some insight into what Daryl and Carol are going to be to each other this year.
Reedus spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the season in general, but he also pointed out that there is a classic moment in Episode 6 that will harken back to the days of Daryl and Carol.
"There's one particularly beautiful, gruesome zombie -- he's got a lot of green moss on him," Reedus said.
"But when you see that episode -- it's in Episode 6, I think, that particular zombie -- something happens, and it harks back to a Daryl and Carol moment."
That could of course mean dozens of different things, and Reedus was quite vague with how that may play out. But he has also been the one that was so close to Carol ever since she lost her daughter, so it may mean the two could finally find that romance the show has always teased.
Over the seasons, Daryl has gotten much more tame. But his bad-boy and lone-wolf personas had never quite clicked with the persona of the sweet and innocent Carol. But last season, fans were finally able to confirm that Carol is not quite as sweet and innocent as they once thought. So that could indeed be the catalyst that pulls them two together.
Another interesting storyline that will be playing out this season is Daryl and Rick will start finding themselves at odds with each other.
"Rick is starting to shut the walls down," Reedus said.
"He's starting to be like, 'You know what, let's not be such helping people.' And he's coming to Daryl and he's saying exactly that, and Daryl's saying, 'I don't know, man, maybe it's worth it to go and find people.'"
Fans can catch the first episode of Season 6 on AMC this Sunday, Oct. 11.
