HP is introducing a new ultrabook that will correct some of the Apple New MacBook's faults and shortcomings in addition to being thinner and more powerful than the new MacBook.

The Envy 13 is HP's newest ultrabook and it is going after the new MacBook with a similar look and slightly better features, TechRadar reports.

The New MacBook was critcized for only having one external port. The Envy 13 will offer four full-sized ports that support USB 3.0. It will also have a full-sized HDMI port and a SD-card reader.

The Envy 13 is slightly thinner than the new MacBook at 12.98 mm, compared to the New MacBook's thickness of 13.1 mm.

The new MacBook offers about 11 hours of battery life, but the Envy 13 comes close with 10 hours.

The Envy 13 will look very similar to most MacBooks with an aluminum body and silver color. The Envy 13 has a 13.3-inch screen, which makes the laptop's display panel much larger than the new MacBook's 12-inch display panel.

Buyers of the Envy 13 will be able to make several choices on the laptop. They can choose from a Core i3, i5 or i7 processor from Intel. They will also be able to upgrade their systems to 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of RAM. The screen starts at a full-HD display, but can be upgraded to a Quad-HD+ display with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,800. The Envy 13 will not have a touchscreen, just like all MacBooks.

HP promises a better experience with the Envy 13 than with the MacBook. The Envy 13 will be extremely light and thin, but it still manages to put four USB 3.0 ports on the device. The Envy 13 is also said to be more powerful than the New MacBook.

Starting at $849, the Envy 13 is much cheaper than the starting price of the new MacBook, which starts at $1,299 and goes up to $1,599 when more storage space is added.
