'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' Gameplay Trailer: Cybercore Chaos Moves & Cybernetic Mods Teased [Video]
Activision has recently outed a new gameplay trailer for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3."
The brief footage shows off some of the fresh moves players can use in the game's campaign via a soldier's cybernetic modifications. These futuristic skills are called "Cybercore Chaos" abilities. The new moves are designed to put enemies in a state of confusion, leaving them vulnerable and exposed, GameRant reported.
Players can stun their opponents in a number of ways through the "Cybercore Chaos" abilities. Soldiers can electrocute their foes during melee combat with a simple touch of a hand known as "Wide-Area Misdirect." Another is the "Adaptive Immolation" that lets players use enemy bombs against them. There is also "Firefly Swarm," which sends a swarm of diminutive drones to attack and neutralize every opponent in a given area.
If all else fails, players can bring enemies to their knees by making them sick to their stomach to the point that it causes them to lose their lunch instantaneously on the battlefield. This particular skill is aptly named "Sonic Antipersonnel."
As good as the "Cybercore Chaos" abilities sound, there was no mentioned as to whether or not the moves will make their way to the game's online multiplayer mode.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will be available for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and Windows on Nov. 6. However, last-gen console versions of the game will not feature a single-player campaign.
Activision stated on the official "Call of Duty" website that the "Black Ops 3" for PS3 and Xbox 360 will only feature multiplayer and Zombies mode since "the ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware."
In other "Black Ops 3" news, Activision confirmed this week that the spy-thriller shooter features the voice and likeness of Christopher Meloni. The 54-year-old "Law & Order" actor will take on the role of a special forces commander and quasi-villain named John Taylor, as per GameSpot.
Meloni is the latest to be added to the "Black Ops 3" celebrity pool, which already has Abby Brammel from "The Unit," Ben Browder from "Farscape," Tony Amendola from "Stargate SG-1" and Sean Douglas and Rachel Kimsey from "Days of Our Lives."
The game's Zombies mode will also feature appearances from Ron Perlman, Jeff Goldblum, Neal McDonough and Heather Graham.
For the time being, PS4 users can now pre-purchase the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" PS4 Limited Edition Bundle at Best Buy or Amazon for $450. The package includes an ember orange and jet black 1TB PS4 console, DualShock 4 gamepad and a digital voucher for the "NUK3TOWN" multiplayer map.
