'Pathologic Classic HD' PC Release Date Set This Fall
If you're a fan of anything that has to do with "psychological survival horror," then the return of "Pathologic" in video games will definitely entice you.
According to the TechTimes, "Pathologic" is a product of developer Ice-Pick Lodge. The game made its debut in 2005. Although it was a hit in Russia using its native language, "Pathologic" did not succeed on transitioning to its English version, primarily because of the subpar translation of its script.
It's been 10 years since the game debuted, and, this time, its heading its way back again to gaming consoles with a lot more to offer, including the classic's HD version.
Its English version has also been enhanced in terms of dialogue, script and narration. Ice-Pick Lodge, in partnership with Gambitious Digital Entertainment and General Arcade, is all set to introduce the revamped "Pathologic Classic HD" this fall.
The "Pathologic" gameplay starts with a grim and gloomy town setting where the player will have to tread his or her path. The town is also marred by an outbreak that risks the health of the whole town. With agents in tow and some volunteers that will help discover the mystery outbreak, a risk of the unknown threatens to jeopardize the mission.
The challenge to stay alive while trying to save everyone else is what embodies "Pathologic." According to VG247, "You cannot shoot, barter nor reason with this enemy, and only one thing is for certain; you can't save everyone."
The new release is essentially the original game released back in 1995 but remastered in order to develop and improve graphics and effects. Although they both feature an abandoned and rather creepy town, the new version will have better graphics and colors.
It has been slated to arrive this fall, but no specific date has been revealed yet. Price will vary depending on the player's region, and it will roughly retail at $12.99/£9.99/€12.99.
"Pathologist" will be available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One by the fourth quarter of the year.
The game's KickStarter page explains why one should buy "Pathologic Classic HD." The page explained that it will be the original game's first time on Steam. The original yet new version of "Pathologic" has been provided with high-quality concept including some "cool effects," "better texture," and, most of all, it can now be supported by modern screen resolution.
