Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner Update: Couple List Pacific Palisades Home for $45M Amid Impending Divorce
Divorcing celebrity couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are unloading their marital home amid separation.
Affleck, the "Argo" star, and Garner, the "Valentine's Day" actress, list their Pacific Palisades residence discreetly for $45 million, Variety reported. The pair reportedly bought the home from film and television producer Brian Grazer of "A Beautiful Mind" and "The Da Vinci Code" for only $17.55 million in 2009, although the movie creator initially sought over $27 million for it. The pair just saved almost $10 million from the closing sale. However, one should not feel bad about Grazer as he only purchased the property in 1992 for $2.65 million, noted Zillow in 2009.
Zillow described the reported three-acre California estate as an "an oddly-shaped parcel with just enough road front." The Los Angeles Times reported six years ago that the abode built in the 1930s was designed by Cliff May, whose works are known for focusing on the importance of having an indoor-outdoor living experience. In the said estate, this principle is evident in the home's large picture windows that let the sun rays in and in the comfortable plan layout, which provides an easy air flow and movements, too.
When Affleck and Garner got hold of the dwelling place, it includes a five-bedroom, eight-bathroom main house and an office that may be used as a personal gym. Outdoors, a swimming pool and a guesthouse are showcased.
However, the Pacific Palisades home may have transformed some of its features as the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor and the "Alias" lead recently renovated the said home, Page Six informed. While the residence was undergoing some changes, the two celebrities and their children rented Brooke Shields' Los Angeles home nearby. Photos of the famous supermodel's rental property are available on the real estate listing site Trulia.
It looks like the decision of the two to finalize their divorce is firm with the listing of their Los Angeles home. They even renovated it just in time to prepare the house for the market and not for rebuilding their marriage.
The two-time Academy Awards winner for "Argo" and "Good Will Hunting" and the Golden Globe-winning actress have been together for 10 years, but recently called it quits.
"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding," Affleck and Garner wrote in a statement via People.
