Find Out Why 80% of PS4 Owners Haven't Played Uncharted
The "Uncharted" game is definitely one of the most anticipated video games this year, but Naughty Dog revealed that not every PlayStation 4 owner has played the game.
In fact, according to Attack of the Fan Boy, the game developer claims that at least 80 percent of PlayStation 4 owners have not tried any game of the "Uncharted". For some reason, Naughty Dog feels like they need to remaster the game in order to convince PlayStation 4 users to try the game. Citing the success of "The Last of Us Remastered," the news outlet notes that this may be the right move for the game's developer.
Naughty Dog also believes that the upcoming "Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection" will make an impact to PlayStation 4 users after remastering the game.
Aside from seeking the attention of gamers, Naughty Dog reveals that they are doing some remastering because it's what they want to do. Eric Monacelli, the community strategist for Sony, said, "I do, personally, expect the 'Uncharted' collection to do as well as 'The Last of Us Remastered.' They set the bar at Bluepoint and did a really good job at everything. So our expectations are high for it."
GameSpot also revealed that at least 50 percent of current PlayStation 4 owners never owned the previous PlayStation console. This is why Sony has been busy planning the integration of back catalog games for the PlayStation 4 to cater those who have not purchased the PlayStaion 3.
Naughty Dog has been all out in promoting "The Nathan Drake Collection" in order to reach their goal of massive revenue and recognition. As of now, according to Monacelli, Sony has launched a TV ad specifically for the game.
Developed by Bluepoint Games, "The Nathan Drake Collection" will include 1080p/60fps versions of several PlayStation 3 games including Drake's Fortune, Among Thieves and Drake's Deception. "The Nathan Drake Collection" is set to launch on Oct. 9 with a special access to a multi-beta version of "A Thief's End," which will come this December.
MCV featured an interview with Monacelli where he was asked whether there's an upcoming sequel after "The Last of Us" made a huge success. Monacelli replied, "We tend to work on one game at a time, 'Uncharted 4' is what everybody's working on. After that, we're going to be working on Uncharted 4 DLC."
