Mexico and the United States will renew their all-time great rivalry on Saturday night.

This is a huge game. This match will serve as the ultimate CONCACAF Gold Cup championship game because Mexico and United States because each team won the last two Gold Cup tournaments. The winner of each continental tournament gets the right to play in the all exclusive FIFA Confederations Cup. The next Confederations Cup will be in 2017, and only one North American squad will be there.

Let's preview this game and pick a winner.

Mexico (27)

It's been a wild year for Mexico. They've been playing in tons of international friendlies and even participated in the 2015 Copa America. Mexico once again took back their Gold Cup championship by defeating Jamaica in the finals back in July. Mexico hasn't lost a single game in their last 10 matches, which also includes an impressive draw against Lionel Messi and Argentina in their last game.

Mexico has won seven Gold Cup championships and three of the last four overall. Mexico, unlike the United States, has won the Confederations Cup before. In 1999 Mexico defeated Brazil in the championship, 4-3.

Javier Hernandez, who missed the Gold Cup, is back for Mexico and he will be in the starting lineup. It's been a rough year for "Chicharito" at the club level, but he always shows up for his national team. Despite the injuries, Andrés Guardado will be playing in this game as well. Guardado was without a doubt the single best player of the Gold Cup scoring numerous clutch goals, many by way of penalty kick.

Unfortunately, Giovani dos Santos will not be playing because of a muscle injury. Most likely Alfredo Talavera will get the start in net. This is the first really "big game" for Ricardo Ferretti, who recently took over Miguel Herrera as head coach.

USA (29)

Inconsistency, drama, heartbreaking loses and controversial roster changes have highlighted the U.S. men's team this year. The U.S. was pounded by Brazil in their last game by a lopsided score of 4-1. This could very well be a make or break game for head coach Jürgen Klinsmann. The U.S. ranks 29 in the world, but not everyone agrees with even that high of a ranking.

The U.S. roster may be in flux, but they did defeat Mexico in their last meeting. The U.S. won their last game against Mexico back in April by a score of 2-0. The U.S. placed second in the Confederations Cup in 2009 losing to Brazil in the finals.

After taking much of the year off from the international level, Tim Howard will be back for the U.S. in goal. Howard may just give the U.S. the advantage in net that they need. All eyes will be on Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore. Without Landon Donovan, these two have to find a way to score and create a balance attack in the foreseeable future.

The US hasn't lost to Mexico since the 2011 Gold Cup.

Schedule

Mexico and the U.S. will play each other on Saturday, Oct. 10 on Fox Sports 1 at 9:30 p.m. EDT. The game will be played at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. You can watch a live game stream here.

Prediction

This should be a great game between two CONCACAF teams who are very familiar with one another. Mexico has the superstar advantage, but the U.S. seems to have Mexico's number over the last few years. The game will be played in the U.S., but don't be surprised if Mexico has home field advantage. This might be a high scoring game.

Mexico wins 3-2
