‘X-Factor UK' 2015: Rita Ora Defends Nick Grimshaw, Slams Former Judge Louis Walsh
Rita Ora has spoken up for her fellow "The X-Factor UK" judge Nick Grimshaw against Louis Walsh. The former show judge had previously talked down on the radio host and Rita thinks Walsh is just feeling bitter that he is no longer on the show.
Being a beginner on "The X-Factor UK" didn't stop Rita from speaking her mind about Walsh's opinions about Grimshaw. According to Mirror UK, the 24-year-old was rather outspoken when she defended the Radio 1 DJ from Walsh and said, "I think someone's just a little bit burnt they lost their chair." Rita then attempted to lighten the mood and added, "It's OK Louis, I'll rub your feet for you if you want. It's OK."
The singer then said some nice words about Grimshaw being a great asset to the show. Rita reportedly said that the "hard worker" Nick "has great taste and great ears." Rita also spoke about the importance of Nick's job as a radio DJ in relation to his being a judge on "The X-Factor UK."
"He may not be able to physically stand on stage and sing a song but you don't need to. He's one of the important hands that plays the songs that you guys get introduced to on the radio. You don't understand as an artist how important that is," she said.
"The X-Factor" mogul Simon Cowell had also shared some good words about Grimshaw's work on the show. In a video shared by Mail Online, the 56-year old said that Nick "has done an amazing job."
In a previous interview with the Daily Star, Walsh had said that the new judges for "The X-Factor UK" "need time to bed in." Although he had expressed his confidence on Rita's skills as a judge, the 63-year old had spoken up about Grimshaw's lack of presence on the show.
"I'm not sure about Grimshaw. I haven't seen much of him. People don't like change and I think they miss Dermot and maybe some people miss me," he said.
It's believed the show's bosses are considering bringing back Walsh to "The X-Factor UK." Louis' comments reportedly caused the public to call for his reinstatement on the show. Unfortunately, it also somehow disheartened Grimshaw. However, Cowell revealed to Mail Online that he had already spoken to Grimshaw about Walsh's statements. But instead of getting angry, Simon said the DJ became even more determined to do well on his job in mentoring a category.
