HTC One A9 Release Date & Features: Leaked Photos Confirms 'Aero' is an iPhone 6 Lookalike
The latest set of leaked images of the HTC One A9 has been posted online, thanks to serial tech leaker @OnLeaks.
The photos show off a "dummy" version of the handset from every imaginable angle. Mobile experts and casual observers might agree that as a whole, HTC's upcoming smartphone looks strikingly similar to the iPhone 6.
For starters, the One A9 has a protruding bottom bezel, which seems to serve no real purpose as the Back, Home and Task toggle buttons have been raised to the display. The handsets chin only needs to contain the handset's fingerprint scanner, GSM Arena reported.
The power and volume switches can be found on the right edge of the handset while SIM and SD card ports (accessible through a pinhole tool) are on the left. The HTC logo is strangely compressed between the base of the screen and the physical home button.
The One A9's top edge is pretty neat and minimalist, although the same cannot be said on the opposite end. The handset's bottom plate is crammed by a standard micro-USB connector port, mono speaker grille, 3.5 mm headphone jack and microphone pinhole.
Apple's legal team do not have sufficient grounds to be alarmed, though, as the One A9 doesn't entirely copy the build of the iPhone 6. Its rear-facing unit might be extended by a millimeter, but it's positioned at a dead center, unlike the primary lens of the iPhone 6 which was fitted at the upper left corner of the device.
Totally separating it from the iPhone 6, the One A9 boasts of an impressive haul of color variants.
Evan Blass, a.k.a. @evleaks, previously took to his Twitter account to post alleged press renders of the One A9.
The image indicated that HTC's upcoming smartphone will come in six color variants namely Acid Gold, Rose Gold, Cast Iron, Carbon Gray, Deep Garnet and Opal Silver.
The rumored specs of the One A9 points to a mid-level device. It has a five-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 617 on chip, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage space and a 2,150 mAh battery.
Its charge capacity might seem modest, but it lets the handset be just 7mm thick. That being said, all speculation surrounding the One A9 might be confirmed or debunked come Oct. 20, when the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer is set to announce an Android Marshmallow-powered device.
Just a heads up, ROM developer and tech tipster LlabTooFer also posted about the One A9 on Twitter. He boldly claimed the handset will run on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow right from the get go.
