Ecuador vs. Bolivia World Cup Qualifiers 2018: Predictions, Preview, Stream, Lineups, Schedule
Bolivia and Ecuador face off in a big World Cup qualifier for both teams on Tuesday.
Bolivia squandered a chance to come away with points at home in its opener against Uruguay, losing 2-0 and now having to go on the road and seek out its first three points of the contest.
Ecuador meanwhile enters the competition on the highest of highs -- a 2-0 win in Argentina that was unlikely before the game, during most of the opening 80 minutes, but wound up coming to be as a result of two quick goals in the span of one minute.
Now Ecuador heads home with the greatest of confidence knowing that it has overcome its biggest test to date.
This will be a rematch from the Copa America match that Bolivia won 3-2. It was one of the most entertaining games of the entire tournament with the underdog Bolivians jumping out to a shocking 3-0 lead in the span of 42 minutes. That was the high point of Bolivia's tournament, as Ecuador's two late goals would be the beginning of the end for them in the tournament.
Bolivia would get to the next round where Peru would dispatch the team with ease while Ecuador would go home after three games.
Ecuador enters this contest as the favorite, but as the Copa America showed, anything can and will happen.
The last qualifiers between these two sides featured a 1-0 win by Ecuador on home soil and a 1-1 draw in La Paz. During the 2010 Qualifiers Ecuador enjoyed two 3-1 wins over the Bolivians but failed to qualify for the big show. Bolivia has not qualified for the World Cup finals since 1994. Since then the team has finished as a bottom two side in the qualifying round in all but one year; during the 2002 qualifiers the team finished seventh.
Prediction: Bolivia loses 4-1 on the road as Ecuador gets revenge for its Copa America defeat.
Start Time: 5 p.m. ET
The game can be streamed on beIN Sport Connect.
