Michael B. Jordan may be joining the Galaxy far, far away, with rumors emerging on Friday that the actor may play Boba Fett in an upcoming "Star Wars" spin off movie.

According to the latest episode of the "Meet the Movie Press" podcast, Jeff Sneider of TheWrap said that Jordan could play the infamous bounty hunter in an upcoming film. However, Disney has not confirmed the rumor, and it is much too early to know whether Jordan will actually play the role.

The "Star Wars" Boba Fett spin off is set for 2018, but it may be delayed if the script is not completed on time. The movie has already been delayed after Josh Trank was fired, leaving the script in development.

If the story is true, it raises a number of questions. First, Jango Fett was played by Temuera Morrison in "Episode II: Attack of the Clones," meaning that Jordan, playing a clone of Morrison's character, would not be able to show his face throughout a future film.

Second, Jordan would most likely face the same type of backlash that John Boyega did when he was revealed to be a Stormtrooper. After all, the Stormtroopers came from the clones that were created in "Attack of the Clones." The situation is even more tenuous with Boba Fett, as he is Jango Fett's unaltered clone.

Disney has made revisions to the "Star Wars" story in the past, but this type of change would most likely upset fans.

Jordan has become one of the most in demand actors after his breakout role in "Fruitvale Station" in 2013. He has since gone on to make "Fantastic Four," "That Awkward Moment" and the upcoming "Creed."

Meanwhile, Disney will continue the main franchise this year with the release of "The Force Awakens," which continues the saga. The movie stars Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. Plot details are unknown. J.J. Abrams directed the movie, with Kathleen Kennedy producing. After the release, Disney hopes to make a "Star Wars" movie every year.
