'Thor: Ragnarok 3' Plot Rumors: God of Thunder Teaming Up With Hulk To Stop The Norse Apocalypse?
Marvel's Cinematic Universe is a hodge-podge of movie crossovers and blockbuster team-ups, and it's only going to get better in phase three.
Next year's "Captain America: Civil War" will feature a collection of veteran and newbie superheroes while "Ant-Man 2" has officially been titled "Ant-Man and the Wasp." Now, there's a rumor circulating online suggesting that Hulk could have a hefty cameo in "Thor: Ragnarok."
According to Jo Blo, Chris Hemsworth's Thor will be teaming up with Mark Ruffalo's Hulk to stop the Norse version of the Apocalypse from happening.
Interestingly enough, the report indicated that the fiasco will not occur on Asgard nor Earth, but on a distant planet. This has opened the possibility for Ruffalo to star in his own solo outing as Hulk.
If the green giant does, in fact, appear alongside the God of Thunder in "Thor: Ragnarok," Marvel could use the film as a foreword to adapt the highly discussed "Planet Hulk" storyline from the comics, as per Polygon.
The last time Hulk was on screen was in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," where he was seen flying away at the end of the film towards an unspecified location before crashing into the ocean.
Ever since then, MCU followers have spent a decent chunk of time speculating where the green giant could be heading or if this was a way for Marvel to bid adieu to Ruffalo in order to reboot the character entirely.
As of the moment, the 47-year-old actor is set to appear in at least one more Marvel movie. Only time can tell whether or not his contract with the Disney-owned studio will be extended.
Reprising their roles in the third "Thor" movie are Tom Hiddleston as fan-favorite Loki and Jamie Alexander as Sif.
Screen Crush pointed out that the film recently found its director, Taika Waititi, who co-directed 2014's "What We Do in the Shadows."
"Thor: Ragnarok" is set before the events of "Avengers: Infinity War Part 1," which is when Thanos will most likely challenge Earth's mightiest heroes.
The Hulk's inclusion in the upcoming "Thor" movie makes sense since it answers where the green giant might have gone after "Avengers: Age of Ultron." It also gives Thor much-needed assistance as he delves into the mystery of the Infinity Stones while the other Avengers are preoccupied with a demobilizing superhero Civil War.
"Thor: Ragnarok" will hit cinemas on Nov. 3, 2017.
