Amidst reports that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield ditched Batkid at this year's Oscars Awards, the young actor reportedly made up for the night with a trip to Disney.

Garfield was supposed to present with Miles Scott, a 5-year-old Make-A-Wish Foundation kid, during last week's Academy Awards. Miles, who was diagnosed with leukemia at 18 months of age, gained fame after saving San Francisco-turned-Gotham as Batkid.

According to New York Post, however, Garfield was not interested in swinging into the Academy Awards with Batkid. The newspaper claimed he stormed off after failing to get his lines changed and "snubbed" Miles. The Make-A-Wish Foundation, on the other hand, says that Garfield went out of his way to spend time with Miles.

"We were happy that Andrew, on his own time, drove to Anaheim on Monday to spend time with Miles and his family," Josh deBerge, Make-A-Wish of America National Communications Manager, said in a statement. "We understand they had a great time."

A rep for the 30-year-old actor denies that Garfield backed out of the Oscars segment.

"In full collaboration with the Academy and the show writer, Andrew prepared a segment for the Oscars to honor Miles Scott as the true hero that he is," Rupert Fowler said in a statement. "At some point overnight on Saturday/Sunday morning, it was decided by those running the show that the segment didn't work in the ceremony."

The New York Post had a much more incriminating story to tell.

"But, in the middle of the dress rehearsal, Garfield decided he didn't like his lines," a "well-placed source" told the newspaper's Page Six. "Garfield refused to go by the script. He came up with his own lines. The producers felt that Garfield's [rewrites] were not appropriate. Garfield had a tantrum. He stormed off. Miles and his family, who were at the rehearsal, were devastated. Garfield was such a spoiled brat that he didn't even want to be a presenter."

New York Post's claims of devastation are questionable as Natalie Scott, Miles's mother, said she had no idea what happened.

"I don't know if they ran out of time, or if there was something about the segment they didn't like," she told The International Business Times. "It got pulled so quickly that we didn't have a lot of insight into what was going on..."

Miles finished treatment for leukemia in June of 2013 and is now in remission, according to Us Weekly.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which co-stars Garfield's girlfriend Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, hits theaters May 2.
