William Levy Defends Elizabeth Gutiérrez From Critics on Instagram
On Oct. 12, actor William Levy showed his support for Elizabeth Gutiérrez on Instagram when he posted a photo of the actress along with a long caption defending her against critics.
According to Diario Rotativo, Levy's post came after people criticized Gutiérrez for choosing to take a break from her show "Brujas" to join him in South Africa.
The actor explained, on his Instagram account, that while he doesn't usually do things like speaking up about media speculation and gossip, this time he couldn't stay quite because a line had been crossed by attacking his family.
"Nobody tells this woman what to do. No one. She has always put her children's dreams before anything else, including her own dreams," Levy said.
"But lets make things clear. Apart from being the most dedicated mother, the most respectful and a fighter, she is an excellent and real professional incapable of making a decision that would affect her coworkers. This decision that Elizabeth took to leave the show was with good intentions to make our children happy and without trying to ruin anyone."
The Cuban star also revealed, while Gutiérrez made the announcement the weekend of her final shows, the production knew about her leaving a month ahead and so people who criticized her for being irresponsible need to get their facts straight.
The actress posted the announcement on social media on Oct. 10 and said she would be taking time off to fulfill a dream that her two children with Levy have.
At the time, the Mexican actress didn't specify what that dream was, but recent Instagram pictures, posted by both Levy and Gutiérrez, show the kids and the "Brujas" star on a plane on their way to South Africa, where Levy is currently filming "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter."
After Levy's announcement, Gutiérrez thanked Levy for his support with a very intimate message. The actress replied with, "Thank you...for being the man that I know but that few take the time to get to know...For this and a lot more I love you!"
