Toshiba continues to create advanced laptops that take full advantage of the new Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, like the Satellite Radius 12, the first 12.5-inch laptop to feature a 4K display.

Microsoft wants to provide users alternate ways to login to their accounts, and the Radius 12 is specifically designed to let owners gain access to their laptops or websites just by showing their faces to the screen, Tech Radar reports.

The Radius 12 is equipped with a Full-HD infra-red camera that will use Windows Hello, Microsoft's new facial recognition software, to allow uses to present their faces in lieu of typing in a password or using a fingerprint scanner.

The 4K display will also be unique to the Radius 12, making it the first 12.5-inch laptop to feature a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels on an IPS display. That display leads to a nice 352 pixels per inch (ppi), far superior to the new 12-inch MacBook from Apple, which only has 264 ppi. Additionally, the display on the Radius 12 is one of very few displays to be calibrated and certified by Technicolor color experts.

Professionals in the video and photography industries will be very happy with the display on the Radius 12. According to Toshiba, the screen is 100 percent covered by the Adobe RGB spectrum, which means excellent video and photo editing for media professionals on the go.

The Radius 12 will have five different position modes: tablet, laptop, tabletop, presentation and audience. The tablet mode refers to the display's ability to flip over 360 degrees to turn into a flat tablet.

The Radius 12 is made entirely of aluminum. It weighs just 2.8 pounds and is just 15.4 mm at its thickest point.

Coming Oct. 18, the Radius 12 will be available in Full-HD for $999, while the 4K model will sell for $1,299.
