Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 News: PES 16 is Getting the Brazil Maracana Stadium, More in the Future
Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is getting a new stadium, the iconic Maracana Stadium in Brazil, and it will be available as a free download next month.
The official Twitter account for Pro Evolution Soccer (@officialPES) announced on Sunday that the Maracana would be added to the game's roster of stadiums, Squawka reports.
The Maracana is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has hosted two World Cup Finals. In 1950, the Brazilians were heavily favored to win the World Cup, but the team suffered a loss to Uruguay at the Maracana in the final game. In 2014, the World Cup Finals returned to the Maracana, except this time it was Germany facing off against Argentina.
In Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, the Maracana will be shown from the outside before matches start. This is different from other arenas which only show the inside.
This year's FIFA video game, FIFA 16 boasts a roster of 50 stadiums. Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 only has 11 this year. In the future, Pro Evolution Soccer could see even more stadiums.
Pro Evolution Soccer's brand manager Adam Bhatti told fans of the game that they will focus on trying to secure more playable stadiums in the future and that he was happy that the Marcana was included as downloadable content (DLC) for free.
Nice we could bring it as free DLC this year, but also gives an insight to what the future holds. See, we do care about stadiums!
Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is getting positive reviews from critics and gamers, especially the PlayStation 4 version. On Metacritic, a site that averages out ratings from video game experts and everyday gamers, Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 for PlayStation 4 has an average of 88 (out of 100). This score is the highest for any sports game ever on the PlayStation 4.
