Lamar Odom News Update: Khloé Kardashian Making All Medical Decisions for Former NBA Star
Khloé Kardashian is in charge of making all medical decisions for still comatose and unresponsive ex-husband Lamar Odom.
On Wednesday, the former NBA star was found lying in his bed at a Nevada brothel with "a pinkish fluid coming from his nose and mouth." Employees at the ranch have since told investigators they saw Odom use cocaine over the four days he was there, and CNN reports another woman claimed she observed him ingest at least 10 herbal supplement pills over that same span.
Though Odom and Kardashian signed divorce papers earlier this year, their uncoupling is not considered legally official because a judge has not yet signed off on all the needed documents. Kardashian officially remains his next to kin, thus leaving her in power of making medical decisions for him.
Reports are Kardashian has not left the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner's side since he arrived at the hospital. Odom's other family members, including his father and two children, have also arrived on the scene.
"When they took him to the Pahrump hospital, the people there told us, 'He doesn't look good," Love Ranch brothel owner Dennis Hof said. "He doesn't look like he'll make it, and if he does, he won't be the same.'"
According to Hof, Odom called him on Saturday and arrived at the brothel shortly thereafter, telling Hof he wanted to stay at the brothel for a few days.
"He was having a good time at the ranch and everything was great," Hof said. That all changed on Sunday, Hof claims, when Odom became "a bit somber" after people started "calling and bothering him."
Authorities have since obtained a blood sample from Odom, presumably to determine if there were any other drugs in his system at the time of the mishap.
Even after they separated and went their own ways, Kardashian continued to express her love for her ex.
"I will never, ever not love Lamar," she recently told reporters. "I was so obsessed with him in a healthy way. He was my husband, and I still wish he was."
In all, Odom played 14 NBA seasons, winning back-to-back titles with Kobe Bryant and the Lakers in 2009 and 2010.
