Amy Schumer recently stopped by the "Today" show to talk about her body image insecurities and the steps she has taken to overcome them.

The 34-year-old comedian said she has struggled all her life with feeling comfortable in her own skin, especially when it came to finding something to wear before going on stage to do stand-up, according to Time.

Speaking with interviewer Maria Shriver, Schumer described the pressure she's often felt in her line of work to always present herself in a certain way to please audiences.

She described her body image, saying, "[It's] been a struggle for me my whole life, and especially just being in the entertainment industry. Standing on a stage in front of people, I can't perform my best or be confident if I'm not sure -- if I'm pulling at something [I'm wearing]. And sometimes, I would just want to throw in the towel and be like, 'I'm not gonna go do stand-up tonight.'"

Luckily, after Schumer met her stylist Leesa Evans on the set of her movie "Trainwreck," she was relieved to find there are wardrobe choices that both satisfy Hollywood and allow her to feel comfortable and confident in your own body. After Evans helped Schumer pick out more flattering clothes, she even helped her little sister pick out clothes as well.

"Seeing my little sister wearing a little blazer and a shirt and looking just like a strong, beautiful woman, it was ... to see this person I care the most about being given those tools was really moving for me," Schumer said, tearing up a bit.

With her new body image and clothing savvy, Schumer has partnered up with Goodwill in an effort to help other women dress their best in order to feel good about themselves.

Schumer can next be seen in her first HBO special "Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo" on Saturday, Oct. 17.
