'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Trailer, Release Date & News: Dakota Johnson and '50 Shades' Cast Talk S&M, Jamie Dornan and Rita Ora
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is done filming. Now that its stars are off the set, they're dishing all the dirt about the movie, from how they felt accepting the life-changing roles to life while filming.
Marcia Gay Harden, who will play Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, Christian Grey's mother, admitted that the role was her introduction to E.L. James's erotic novel.
"When I was cast in it, I hadn't read it yet, so I did download it, and I did shame-read it," she told Entertainment Weekly before adding that she also did some shame-research on the Internet.
Despite the hyper-sexual nature of the film, Harden, 54, did not have to get too naughty.
"I play Mama Grey, so it's like, unless you're in the red playroom with a toy in your hand and flesh on your face, it's sort of like any other movie that you could do," she said.
That's more than you can say for the movie's leads, including Jamie Dornan who plays Christian. Apparently, the 31-year-old got through the days with help of the musical stylings of Rita Ora, 23, who plays Mia Grey, Christian's sister.
"Behind the scenes, he'll jump into an Irish ditty, or he was singing a lot of Rita Ora," Harden explained. "He's like [in Irish accent], 'Oh, you got that in brain now.' We're like, 'Come back to America because you got a scene in a minute.' 'But it's in my brain!' He's sweet."
Meanwhile, Dakota Johnson, who plays Anastasia Steele, is adjusting to her sudden fame.
"I have no idea how it's going to go," the 24-year-old actress told Elle. "I plan on handling it gracefully, to live my life as close as I can to how I do now."
The movie will certainly publicize the S&M fetish, something with which the film's stars are okay.
"I think women should pursue whatever kind of relationship they want and makes them happy, and if that's S&M, that's great," Johnson said
"The story is so intriguing, and I think so many people have read it, and it is erotic... I like looking and thinking, 'Why did we anthropologically select for erotic pleasure in pain?'" Harden said. "It's really interesting to me, and E. L. James has the answer."
Fifty Shades of Grey hits theaters Feb. 13, 2015.A trailer is expected to be released soon, as filming is complete.
