Bureau of Prisons officials are considering prohibiting Teresa Giudice from filming episodes of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" for several months once she is released from custody.

Radar Online reports Giudice could be placed on house arrest for as long as two months after she is released, threatening to disrupt plans by Bravo network executives to immediately return the reality star to the air.

"It looks like Teresa might not be able to film while she is under house arrest," a source said. "The Bureau of Prison's has to sign off on it, and no decision has been made."

Giudice is currently being held at the Danbury Correctional Facility, serving out the remainder of her 15-month sentence on bank fraud-related charges. She is slated to be released sometime around Christmas, though several media outlets previously reported she already signed on to rejoin "Real Housewives." Network officials have been delaying filming on the new season in hopes of including her in more scenes.

At trial, Teresa's husband Joe was also found guilty of similar charges and is expected to begin serving out the terms of his 41-month sentence soon after his wife has been released. Word is show producers were hoping to have the cameras rolling for the couple's final days together.

"The entire show revolves around Teresa, so the network has no other choice but to wait," a source added.

In the meantime, Teresa has also already signed on to publish a prison tell-all once she has been released. "Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again" is slated to be on bookstore shelves in early February.

In addition, the family's new spin-off show "Real Housewife of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In" is already airing, with Teresa starring via jailhouse phone calls with her husband and four young daughters. The premise of the show centers on Joe trying to hold his family together while his wife is away.
