'Dancing With the Stars' News: Singer Belinda Rumored to Make Crossover in Next Season
Pop singer Belinda is rumored to possibly be making an appearance on the next season of American celebrity dance competition, "Dancing With The Stars."
According to TVyNovelas, the 26-year-old artist is looking to make her crossover to American music and will be doing so on "Dancing With The Stars," which previously helped Cuban actor William Levy make his crossover.
While the Spanish star hasn't named the show she did reveal that her next project is on American television.
"I can't reveal anything ahead of time, but it is a project in English and I am really excited. It is for the United States," she said.
Belinda has had experience being on reality shows already with a stint on "El Factor X" in 2013. The star also made her English-language film debut in 2006, with a guest appearance in the Disney Channel Original Movie "The Cheetah Girls 2."
The singer, who is currently working on her followup album to "Catarsis," recently discussed her upcoming musical effort and collaboration with iconic star, Juan Gabriel, reported Latin Times.
"I am very excited because, well Juan Gabriel is one of the most important artists in the world," she said. "He is an icon in this country [México]. It was really nice for him to have invited me to be in his album."
According to the singer, the duet with Gabriel will be a released as a single and will include a music video as well.
Over the summer, the singer made the decision to drop her label Universal Music to become an independent artist, reported TVNotas.
The pop singer explained that she is satisfied with the decision because she will be able to have full control of her music and will be able to do things that make her happy, regardless of it being a lot more work.
"I will be surrounded by the best team so that it can work. I won't have the pressure of a new single, a release date," she said.
Belinda revealed that her upcoming album will feature collaborations, one of which she hopes will be with Vicente Fernandez, and songs in English as well.
