Samsung has a lot of surprises up their sleeve and a leak recently revealed that the tech giant is planning to launch the next Samsung Galaxy S7 earlier than expected.

According to a post from Sam Mobile, a Korean publication ETNews has reported the announcement date of the upcoming Samsung devices set in January 2016. The Samsung Galaxy S7 will also reportedly come in two variants, "premium" and "sub-premium."

This two different variants are said to be different under the hood with the "premium" Galaxy S7 featuring a "Samsung-made SoC" and the "sub-premium" model fitted with one that's from a third party such as Qualcomm or MediaTek, according to Phone Arena.

The Sam Mobile report also revealed the presence of a new ePoP chip in the Galaxy S7, which is expected to make the performance of the handset more efficient as it did for predecessors Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

This upcoming flagship device of Samsung will be one of the high-end smartphones taking the market by storm upon its release. It will reportedly run on different processors for each variant, as well as be fitted with a USB Type-C port and a dual camera setup.

A previous report from Latin Post also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will go head to head with the newest iPhones by featuring technology similar to 3D Touch. The special feature helped propel the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus ahead of the competition, but Samsung is catching up with an innovative counter for their next high-end devices.

Samsung will reportedly partner with Synaptic for their new screen technology dubbed the ClearForce, which will help them create pressure-sensitive screens for the new line of handsets coming out in the market.

Other rumored specs include a built-in iris scanner for upgraded security and a slimmer body than its predecessors, according to another report from Latin Post. The sleek design features reinforced Tortoise Glass and a curved display that was also seen in the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

Meanwhile, photos of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge also emerged recently on Value Walk, offering a peek of the stunning design that's set to be released soon. The innovative device will feature a display that wraps around the top and the bottom of the device, with minimal buttons on the sides.

The new Galaxy S7 Edge will reportedly come with a 5.8-inch screen, plus 4 GB of RAM and possibly the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset under the hood.
