It's been a while since the most anticipated handset was a BlackBerry. That's about to change with the unveiling of the highly anticipated BlackBerry Priv. So far, there have been plenty of reports on the very first Android-powered BlackBerry.

According to a report from Express.co.uk, a new listing from Carphone Warehouse revealed more specs on the latest BlackBerry model. The BlackBerry Priv will keep its classic, business-appropriate aesthetic and upgrade it with the latest technology including a 5.4-inch QHD screen with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, 18-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and Android 5.1.1.

Under the hood, the BlackBerry Priv will run on a 1.8GHz dual-core (+ 1.44GHz quad core) Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, plus carry 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The battery life is expected to be satisfactory with its 3,410mAh capacity.

The goal of the BlackBerry Priv is to combine the hardware and software features of BlackBerry with the applications and content available to Android devices. According to a recent report in The Verge, BlackBerry CEO John Chen said as much in the recent Code/Mobile conference saying, "We wanted to bring the BlackBerry knowhow in security - the whole stack - to Android, recognizing that we need the apps there and the world is about integrating now."

He added, "I'm doing what I'm doing to take advantage of what the industry has to offer without giving up the security and privacy features BlackBerry is known for."

The BlackBerry Priv offers the best of both worlds, and a previous report from Crackberry revealed the efforts behind its success including a new security suite of apps for the upcoming handset called BlackBerry Safeguard.

"On BlackBerry 10, it's just a combination of safeguards built to the OS such as Picture Password, Password Keeper, BlackBerry Protect but BlackBerry may have built some additional tools now that they can make use of Android options," Crackberry revealed.

The report added, "So, that's the security side of things. What else has BlackBerry done to the software? After all, it does largely look like a stock Android device. Well, there's a few BlackBerry touches as well including preloading BBM as well as their own Calendar, Tasks, Notes apps and more. They've also adjusted how the launch screen works so instead of just being offered Google Search; you'll also have the option to use BlackBerry Device Search and access to the BlackBerry Hub."

The high-end smartphone will reportedly cost $630, according to Latin Post.

The BlackBerry Priv is set to hit the market on Nov. 6, 2015.
