Taylor Swift, Katy Perry ‘Bad Blood’ Rumors: Selena Gomez Discusses on 'Watch What Happens Live'
Selena Gomez was asked on Sunday to comment on the rumor that Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" is about Katy Perry.
The 23-year-old "Good For You" singer was confronted with the issue in a new interview on "Watch What Happens Live," according to Entertainment Weekly.
While the singer was playing the game called "Plead the Fifth" on the show, in which guests are allowed to stay silent only for one question, Gomez chose to remain quiet after being asked, "Put the rumors to rest once and for all, is 'Bad Blood' about Katy Perry?"
In a recent GQ interview, Swift herself denied the song, off her 2014 hit album "1989," is about the "I Kissed a Girl" singer. When asked about the song's origins, Swift said the song "doesn't point to any one person or any one situation" and hinted it may be about an ex-boyfriend.
Rumors maintaining Swift's "Bad Blood" was about Katy Perry first began circulating after Swift spoke with Rolling Stone before the release of "1989." The singer previously said the track was about another pop star she used to be friends with, until the latter star "sabotaged" Swift's world tour by hiring away some of her dancers. Perry's Prism World Tour and Swift's Red Tour were both happening around the same time, which indicated that Perry might be the perpetrator Swift spoke about.
Gomez was also asked by the show's host Andy Cohen about her friendship with Demi Lovato and whether or not Nick Jonas is gay. The pop star assured everyone that she is good friends with Lovato, especially after having grown up together on the Disney channel, and that Jonas is, in fact, not gay.
Gomez released her latest album, "Revival," on Oct. 9. The album has produced the singles "Good for You" and "Same Old Love."
