For the first time since NBA Sixth Man Of The Year, Lamar Odom, has been hospitalized, Odom's estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, has finally spoken about the player's condition and broke her social media silence to thank everyone who have showered them with support.

Through the reality TV star's website, Kardashian released a statement saying that the past week has been really tough and expressed gratitude to everyone, her family, friends and fans included. "I am so thankful for my family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well-wishes to Lamar," the 31-year-old said.

"I also wanted to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work," the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star said. Kardashian also commended the medical staff in Sunrise Hospital and said that "under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made."

ET Online reports that on Monday, Odom was transferred from Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas through an air ambulance and was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. In the past week since Tuesday, Odom has been admitted to the Nevada hospital after the baller was found unconscious in a brothel at Crystal, Nev. after days of sex, pills and alcohol.

"You can never be prepared for an experience like this but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, It would have been difficult to endure," Kardashian added. "Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!"

While Odom has quite recovered after waking up from days of coma, the Former Laker still got a long way ahead to recovery. ET also reports that despite Odom's recovery, a kidney specialist from Cedars-Sinai told the publication that Odom's kidney are still malfunctioning as he undergoes dialysis every day. Dialysis is only band-aid solution and the player is seen to be possible candidate of kidney transplant.

But in general, the former NBA star is doing a lot better than the previous days. In a report by Los Angeles Times, Odom's aunt JaNean Mercer released a statement and said that Odom's progress is "miraculous."

"As Lamar begins a new chapter in his road to recovery, PLEASE continue to uplift him and the family in prayer," Mercer's statement read. "He continues to make miraculous progress, taking a few steps in Los Angeles. We couldn't be more overjoyed! We realize Lamar's continued improvement will not be easy, however his unrelenting strength and faith in GOD will pull him through.

Even though Kardashian and Odom have already signed their divorce, they are still considered husband and wife in the eyes of law as the divorce papers are not yet finalized and are yet to be signed by the court. This enables Kardashian to decide over Odom as she is the player's next-of-kin.
