Why "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" Might Be Better Than "The Avengers"
So we have seen the trailers for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and we are all too excited for its release on April 4. But would you believe that it is so good that it's better than The Avengers film? AMC Movie Talk host John Campea talks post credit scenes and what we should expect from Marvel's next big release.
Movie critics probably have the best job on earth (other than those people on the travel shows of course). John Campea is one of AMC's most opinionated hosts and also one of the lucky few who had the opportunity to watch The Winter Soldier before us normal folk. Campea humbly bragged about watching the film and couldn't contain himself while trying to explain what he thought about it.
"We were told we could tweet our reactions so I will simply tell you what I tweeted." Not being able to give any spoilers ('cause we will kill him), John was careful with his response. "Captain America 2 might be the best Marvel movie yet. Still processing, but it's insanely good," he tweeted. But Campea took it a step further when shortly after he tweeted; "I don't know if Cap 2 is 'better' than Avengers. Might or might not be. But it's certainly a more well rounded movie." What does it mean for Marvel if they made a better single character movie than their star film The Avengers?
One thing is for sure... we don't mind. Keep the awesome superhero movies coming, but when you make an excellent film it is a challenge to make an equally great one or even better. Other exciting moments to look forward to are Marvel's post credit scenes. In Captain America 2, there is not only one post credit scene, there are two. The first one is a mid-credit scene and the next one is right at the end of the film. Joss Whedon, the director of The Avengers actually directs the last post scene, which is a pathway into Avengers 2. So don't get up from that seat until they turn the theater's lights on!
Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier hits theaters Friday, April 4. Who's going?
