When Paul Walker tragically died in November of last year, the production of Fast and Furious 7 was put on hold indefinitely as the producers scrambled to figure out what to do with the story now that one of its pivotal characters is gone. However, reports have now confirmed that production will resume this month... without Paul or his CGI simulacrum. 

Bonnie Fuller's Hollywood Life is reporting that Universal Pictures has confirmed the story. "Shooting will resume on March 31 in Atlanta...meaning the cast and crew will be heading back to work roughly four months after the shocking death of franchise star Paul Walker," according to the studio's statement.

Since Walker had completed many of his scenes before his death, his character -- Brian O'Conner -- will remain in the film. However, Fast and Furious 7 will be the last one that Paul/Brian will appear in. 

In the weeks after the tragedy, director James Wan, writer Chris Morgan and Jeffrey Kirschenbaum, Universal's lead executive on the Fast films, pored over the footage Wan had shot," continues the studio statement. "The trio then devised a plan to tweak the existing script so that Walker would remain a part of the story but could be written out, allowing the franchise to continue without him." 

Indeed, according to Metro U.K., Vin Diesel also confirmed the shooting of Fast and Furious 7 on his Twitter page today. "The transition into that Dom state of mind has always been an interesting one. Only this time there is added purpose, a collective goal to make this the best one in the series... P.s. The long awaited completion of Seven, begins..." he wrote.

Walker was only 40 when he died in a fiery car crash in November 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Meadow, who was 13 at the time of his death.
