‘Power Rangers’ Movie Cast & Spoilers: Dacre Montgomery To Play Red Ranger in 2016 Film Reboot
In another wave of Power Ranger spoilers, Dacre Montgomery will play the Red Ranger alongside previously announced Pink Ranger that features Naomi Scott.
According to ComingSoon, Montgomery's name never made it to the shortlist, that is why it was a bit surprising when he was hailed as the new Red Ranger.
In an Instagram post by Power Ranger Movies, the franchise featured Dacre and Naomi's pictures bearing the titles of Red Ranger and Pink Ranger. Also in line is the Black Ranger, where Daniel Zovatto, Brian Marc and Ross Butler all vie for the said role.
There is still no details on Dacre Montgomery's role as Red Ranger, according to a report from We Got This Covered, it would be very interesting to know what it would be like to see a Power Ranger reboot after two decades of being a TV series.
The official Twitter page of the Power Rangers Movie also confirmed the participation of Dacre Montgomery when they posted a tweet saying, "Every #PowerRangers squad needs a leader. Welcome Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger in the 2017 #PowerRangersMovie!"
If you're not that familiar with Dacre Montgomery, Comic Book shed some light to his career and personal endeavors. Montgomery will soon list the "Power Rangers" movie under his belt, but, for now, he takes pride on two of his previous projects, the short film "Betrand the Terrible" in 2010 and "Family Tree TV" also in 2010.
The "Mighty Morphine Power Rangers" TV series in 1993 had Austin St. John as the Red Ranger. Despite leaving in the middle of the second season, St. John returned to the scene and played the franchise's Gold Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo.
The long-running franchise of the Power Rangers has weathered years and lasting comfort playing on a TV series, but, this time, the 2016 film reboot of the Power Rangers is finally happening.
"X-Men: First Class" screenwriter Ashley Miller will be joined by Zack Stentz to transform the Power Rangers franchise from TV to the big screen.
The reboot of the Power Rangers movie is expected to open on January 13, 2017, so it may be quite some time before any new information about the movie will be heard online. Meantime, watch out for the rest of the Power Ranger cast announcement.
