YouTube Red, the first pay version of YouTube was introduced Wednesday. For $9.99 per month, paid users get access to videos without ads and offline viewing of video content as well as other benefits.

As a member of YouTube Red, users will be able to save videos from YouTube and view them later without being connected to the Internet. This option as well as the ad-free videos are the two main highlights of the service, Tech Spot reports.

With YouTube Red, members will be able to multitask and watch videos while they read emails or utilize other apps, if their phone supports it.

In addition to videos, YouTube Red members will also have access to the Google Play Music program which will provide them with ad-free songs on demand.

YouTube Music is another service that is coming to YouTube. If a YouTube Red member accesses YouTube Music they will get all of the music without ads. Without a YouTube Red membership, YouTube Music will be ad supported.

If a Google Play Music user already subscribes to Google Play Music, they will get YouTube Red for free, meaning they will not have to pay $9.99 for each service, just the one monthly fee.

YouTube is planning its own original programming. Some of the series and movies will only be made available to YouTube Red subscribers.

For those who are not sure whether they want to pay $9.99 per month for YouTube Red, there is a free 30-day trial. Starting Oct. 28, customers can start their free trial when YouTube Red goes live. After the 30 days are up, users will be converted into full members and charged the $9.99 monthly rate. YouTube Red is YouTube's newest product since the gaming network YouTube Gaming was released in August.
