‘Super Smash Bros 4' Release Date & Gameplay: Game Creator Thinks PS4 is Much Better than Xbox One?
Masahiro Sakurai has given his thoughts on Sony's current gen console, saying that he admires its power as a gaming device.
Kotaku translates the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. creator's Weekly Famitsu write-up which expressed his thoughts on the PS4.
"First off, the console looks cool," Sakurai wrote. "As hardware evolves, people tend to make things more rounded or add more details, but [the PS4] is properly angular. This simplicity is really nice," he added.
"What I found most appealing was the machine's power. Looking over the various software, the screens are detailed and smooth. Load times are short and there are no slowdowns," the game creator continued.
Sakurai even lamented on how the PS4 is not backwards compatible, which seems to be one of the reasons why he hasn't upgraded.
"If only I could play PS3 games on it, I could pack up my PS3 and my room would be cleaner..." he wrote.
He praised the PS4 even more, saying "I sincerely hope that many creative masterpieces are born from hardware like this."
Although Masahiro Sakurai clearly admires Sony's latest gaming device, he remarks that he doesn't want to "take sides" and says that he is more concerned with the future of gaming.
"Whether it's Nintendo or Sony, Japanese or Foreign, I don't care about picking sides. I work hoping that the future of games and the game business will be more fun," he said.
The game creator is reportedly working on a new Super Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3Ds which is allegedly due out sometime this year. Previous reports predicted a Spring 2014 release date but Sakurai has dismissed the rumor on Twitter.
Sakurai has dished out several info regarding various characters, gameplay mechanics and items in the upcoming Wii U and 3Ds Super Smash Bros. as covered by Siliconera.
