Xiaomi MIUI 7 Offers the Best MIUI Experience To Date, See Features & Release Date Details Here
Xiaomi's brand new Android-based mobile software is just a few days away from being made available to the public.
According to the MIUI's blog site, the rollout for the global stable version of MIUI 7 will commence next Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Xiaomi claimed that MIUI 7 will have its own aesthetic design, despite being based on Android. The latest operating system will have a touch of iOS, too, since it features the same general no-app drawer look on iOS devices.
MIUI7 has thousands of curated themes for users to choose from. However, Xiaomi's newest OS has three built-in flagship themes.
"Ocean Breeze" reminds users of the beach with its blue tones and sailboat Contacts icon while "Pink Blush" is covered in pink and has a woman as its Contacts icon. "High Life" uses dark colors and has a tuxedo Themes app icon with a jet lock screen.
While in the topic of lock screens, users can choose to animate their lock screens with updated weather forecasts or games. It can be remembered that prior MIUI software had a lock screen game, where users play as Superman and have to dodge away from kryptonite. Only time will tell if MIUI 7 will have new perks in that department or if they will simply carry over the Superman mini-game.
This time, games will last longer and feel smoother as Xiaomi indicated on the MIUI 7 overview page that its newest OS improves battery life up to 10 percent while boosting system response time to as much as 30 percent.
With regard to boosts, there's now a new XXL text size option for those who prefer text so big that only two words could fit per line.
For parents out there, the "Baby Album" feature automatically recognizes pictures of your child and sorts them into a special folder. Parents also have the "Child Mode" functionality at their disposal. The app limits what children can access while using the device. "Child Mode" prevents children from making unnecessary changes to home screen layouts, contact information, emails, etc.
A feature called "Showtime" lets users set five-second videos as their friend's caller ID. The video from a particular contact will be playing on loop while an on-going call is being made.
Lastly, users can purchase data packages from Xiaomi via the "MI Roaming" app on MIUI 7. The app will then act as a virtual SIM card for users who travel out of the country, avoiding the need to buy a new SIM card.
