WWE: Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker Hell in a Cell Match, Vince McMahon's Big Plan & More
Brock Lesnar versus The Undertaker at Sunday's Hell in a Cell is being advertised as the last match between the two WWE heavyweights. The timing of the send-off has sparked rumors suggesting that Vince McMahon would use the event to introduce Lesnar's next big feud.
According to Wrestling Inc, one of two scenarios could take place during the brawl. Either Lesnar defeats The Undertaker fair and square to end their feud, or Lesnar is cheated from the victory by someone who will end up being his next opponent.
There is no word yet if Lesnar will work a program between now and the next WrestleMania season. That being said, whoever interferes on The Undertaker's behalf on Sunday could end up being Lesnar's WrestleMania 32 opponent.
The latest speculation stemmed from the idea that Vince McMahon wouldn't blow apart a major WWE feud at a minor pay-per-view event like Hell in a Cell unless he had something a lot bigger up his sleeves.
One highly anticipated match-up is Brock Lesnar versus "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Even though there wasn't any indication of this during Austin's Monday night podcast, there are those who still believe it could happen.
Some of the reasons What Culture mentioned why the feud could materialize is that it would be a huge boost for WWE since it pairs the biggest WWE draw of all time with the biggest UFC draw ever.
It will also bring into a full circle the duo's feud from way back in 2002.
Austin walked away from WWE in 2002, partly due to Lesnar's emergence as its next big star. At that time, Austin didn't want to be pitted against Lesnar in a non-promoted Raw match, which would have been a loss. The plot would be the perfect starting point to galvanize the duo's WrestleMania 32 showdown.
The Rock has also been rumored to be facing Lesnar next year, although this still remains a moot proposition as there has been no word on whether or not The Rock would be appearing in some capacity at Sunday's Hell in a Cell.
With regard to the seemingly rushed timing of Lesnar's upcoming bout with The Undertaker, Paul Heyman had this to say on CMG:
"The people want it now. The audience wants it now. There is a long time between now and WrestleMania. Someone could get hurt. The audience could lose interest. Something else may garner more attention. This is the time to exploit that opportunity. No, I'm not surprised it is happening this fast. I'm very happy that we are doing this particular match on this particular pay-per-view."
