Now that the WhatsApp update is available, the next possible step for consumers is to download the app. If you haven't figured out how to do so, you may begin here.

According to the NeuroGadget, the latest WhatsApp version is currently on beta, which means that it hasn't been made available on the Google App Store. Regardless of the version, users can try the app by downloading the WhatsApp APK and enabling the Unknown Sources from your device. You can do this by going to Setting, Security then Applications. By not enabling the Unknown Sources, you may not be able to install the APK that you have taken from a third-party app.

The purpose of this is to ensure the user is properly protected from a third-party app, given that the new version of WhatsApp is not yet official and still on the beta stage.

The WhatsApp Update also uses a single account, which means that once you decide to have the new version, the older version may have to be uninstalled or possibly automatically be removed once the new one is in. This should be taken as a warning to make sure that you make the necessary back-ups on your chats and messages.

They also pointed out that the new version of WhatsApp automatically saves chat history at 3 a.m. daily. Google Drive, on the other hand, has enabled users to save these chats on cloud, where you can choose how they will be stored: daily, weekly or monthly.

In another post by NeuroGadget, the installation is easy once the shortcut appears on your mobile phone. All you need to do is tap the icon and let it install. Some of the excellent features of the WhatsApp Update 2.13.326 APK includes an adequate storage space on your Android phone as well as a pop-up Google Drive that will let you choose the frequency of chat backup.

Meanwhile, the WhatsApp 2.12.9 version has been made available on iPhones. Although there have been numerous updates on the WhatsApp Android version, primarily because of more Android users, the iPhone line is not about to be left out.

NeuroGadget said that the iPhone version of WhatsApp, which is the WhatsApp 2.12.9, is already stable and can now be downloaded on the App Store. You have two options on how to get it, by opting to install or update the version you already have.
