Khloé Kardashian, Lamar Odom Relationship News: NBA Star Suspected of Overdosing on Cocaine, Other Drugs
Lamar Odom is believed to have overdosed on cocaine and a concoction of other drugs in the hours before he had to be rushed to a Las Vegas hospital unresponsive and fighting for his life.
According to the Associated Press, those findings are revealed in search warrant records obtained by the media outlet on Thursday, which include extensive testimony from Nye County Sheriff's Det. Michael Eisenloffel.
"I believe that Mr. Odom may be -- or may have been -- under the influence of a controlled substance," said Eisenloffel, who apparently based his conclusions on claims by witnesses that Odom ingested "an unknown substance in the form of an unidentified pill, which he obtained from his pocket," as well as reports by several brothel workers who "heard him snorting."
Late Thursday, TMZ reported the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner had to be rushed into two emergency surgeries at LA Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he is now being treated after being airlifted from a Vegas facility. Word is doctors have now banned all his visitors, other than estranged wife Khloé Kardashian, who continues to make all medical decisions for him amid reports the two have formally called off divorce proceedings.
Reports are Odom was able to convince the reality star to take him back and end things with her current NBA boyfriend James Harden by swearing to kick his drug addiction once and for all.
"This is a huge wake-up call for Lamar, for his friends and family," a source said. "Everyone is just really hoping for the best."
The 35-year-old Odom is reported to have spent several days at a Las Vegas brothel prior to be hospitalized. Workers at the facility are rumored to have found him in his room unconscious with blood coming from his nose and mouth.
While hospitalized in Vegas, Odom received visits form ex Liza Morales and his two children, Destiny and Lamar Jr.
