Watch 'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9 Series Finale: HIMYM Rumors Speculate That Ted is Dead [VIDEO]
"Last Forever" is the title of the last episode of the How I Met Your Mother series. The finale will be one hour in the form of two episodes, episodes 23 and 24.
Avid fans of the series have been speculating about what will happen in the finale episode. Some anticipate a touching ending for Ted Mosby and his wife or a funeral scene. There are also expectations that the couple will have some revelations about their life, and it will show where and how the life of Barney, Marshall, Robin and Lily will conclude.
Episode 19 (Vesuvius) hinted that Ted's wife could die. In one scene of episode 19, Ted's stories to his kids were basically to help them remember their mom. This assumption was further supported when Ted's mother told him that she wished he would continue living his life and not just as a person who exists in tales. This statement could mean that Ted's mother wants him to recuperate from the death of his wife.
There is also Robin's wedding scene, where she broke down and started to cry when she saw her mother. Ted also started to cry when he heard his wife asking, "What type of mother misses their daughter's wedding?"
A few have also speculated that the funeral scene will be Ted's. This speculation comes from the fact that in the initial episode the children, Luke (David Henrie) and Penny (Lyndsy Fonseca), are seated on a sofa with an agitated and irritated expression. HIMYM's viewers have proposed that the children are watching a video so they speculated that Ted Mosby died even before 2030.
Viewers also identified additional inconsistencies such as: Ted in his wedding attire, the hotel manager who did not age and the falling of snow indicating that the presence of Ted's wife is only a delusion.
Carter Bays and Craig Thomas announced that the HIMYM Season 9 Finale episode will have a peek into the future and they said that all the characters of How I Met Your Mother season 9 will be present in its final episode.
