Chris Brown Music 2014: Star Returns to Jail After Getting Booted From Rehab
More trouble surrounds the infamous rapper. Chris Brown, 24, was thrown out of rehab this week though the immediate cause was not released in full. The rapper had been in rehab and was finishing off a five-year probation that stemmed back to 2009.
Five years ago Brown was indicted for beating his then girlfriend, the singer Rihanna. He pled guilty to felony assault in June 2009 and he was sentenced to a five-year probation and 1,400 hours of community service, according to CNN. Within the last year, his probation has been revoked twice. The latest incident happened when he punched a man steps away from the White House.
According to Hollywood Life, Brown was thrown out of rehab and subsequently arrested by the LA County Sheriff's office. He was thrown out allegedly because he violated "internal rules" but his breach of rules did not involve violence or drugs. Instead, it is reported he had an inappropriate relationship with a female employee. Yet, it is not certain this was the reason.
In a statement released by the sheriff's office, Brown was arrested at 2 p.m. on March 14 in Malibu. "Mr. Brown was cooperative when taken into custody. He is being held without bail at the Inmate Reception Center of the Los Angeles County jail in downtown Los Angeles," read the statement.
Because of the incident at the White House, Brown had his probation revoked but a judge allowed him to stay out of jail by entering a 90-day rehab program, according to CNN. Despite having finished said program, a judge ordered the rapper to remain at the facility until his hearing in April.
It remains unclear what prompted his removal from the rehab program. According to his probation officer, Brown had been making progress and was working with a highway clean up crew.
