'Wonder Woman' Rumors, News: Character and Plot Details Revealed?
Warner Bros. DC's "Wonder Woman" goes into production in a little over a month from now, and the studio has done a good job with keeping a lid on most of the details. However a recent report has suggested they've received some inside scoop.
What has been confirmed so far is that actress Gal Gadot will helm the role as the title character, while "Star Trek" actor Chris Pine will play love interest Steve Trevor. Patty Jenkins has also been locked down to direct.
According to JoBlo, the film will take place within two time periods: Present day and World War I. It has also been suggested that the movie plans on staying very close to the comics, by tying in mythological events, which brings us to our villains rumor.
While it has been previously reported by Heroic Hollywood that Greek deities Circe and Ares would be both featured as antagonists, the news outlet's sources claim to have confirmed this, but hasn't gained validity to the rumors surrounding them being portrayed by Eva Green and Sean Bean. Sources further state that Ares will act as a "puppet master" and command an army of beasts, and Circe will transform into a Chimera-like monster in her final fight with Wonder Woman.
As far as the plot goes, sources say that it will largely encompass Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor attempting to thwart Circe's plans to star World War III by manipulating government officials, much like she did against Ares in World War I.
JoBlo finally closes with letting us know that Batman is slated to cameo for a scene that connects her to the plot of "Batman v Superman." The events in "Wonder Woman" are expected to take place a couple months before that film.
"Wonder Woman" hits theaters on June 23, 2017.
