There's no tension within the Houston Texans over the Ryan Mallet cut.

Texans head coach Bill O' Brien confirms that he is not having problems with the team executives right after former quarterback Mallett was released, Chron noted. He specifically stated that he and general manager Rick Smith have a smooth working relationship.

"Rick and I have respect for each other. We work together and communicate every day. It's a partnership. Decisions are made by the two of us," O'Brien said.

The mentor added that in every decision they make, they also give respect due to Texans' owner Bob McNair.

"Obviously, they require the concurrence of the owner, Bob McNair. That's how it works around here," the coach said.

The Texans released Mallett on Tuesday after he missed his flight to Miami for a game against the Miami Dolphins, NFL.com informed. Mallett reportedly blamed heavy traffic for the incident. It was not the first time Mallett disappointed the team. During the training camp, he also reportedly came late for practice because his alarm did not get off, per a separate article from NFL.com.

Texans' complaints on Mallett

O' Brien may not be the only one thinking that Mallett should go, as several of his past teammates have several complaints on Mallett, too, a separate NFL.com report noted.

One Texan described Mallett's not being able to be with the team on the charter flight as "disrespectful" as everyone else was there.

"That makes you question whether he cared at all about what we're trying to do, or what kind of problems he's dealing with. He's immature," the player said.

Another Texans player thinks that he may have some personal issues going on and they could make anyone "worry about him." However, it should be something that needs to be resolved soon as he may have a difficult time entering another NFL team.

"He's got to make some changes or his football career will be over," his former teammate said.

Mallett's time with the Texans

The Arkansas-born player played in the 2012-2013 season with the New England Patriots, per ESPN stats. Last season, he entered the Houston team and played for three games. This 2014-2015 season, he was able to play for six games before he was reportedly released on Oct. 27. Although he booked a commercial flight to go to Miami on Sunday, Oct. 25, he did not play in the Texans vs. Dolphins game, per ESPN.

The Texans will face the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 1 without Mallett, as posted on the Houston team's website.
