Rihanna will soon hit the silver screen again as she is joined by her supermodel BFF, Cara Delevingne, in the sci-fi movie "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets."

Although everyone's so excited to see the supermodel and "Bitch Better Have My Money" crooner team up for the movie, no one has expressed more excitement than the movie director himself, Luc Besson. Through an Instagram post, the sci-fi helmer posted a photo of RiRi and announced that the crooner will be joining the "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" cast.

"RIHANNA is in VALERIAN!!!!!....and she has a big part!!" the director said in full exhilaration (and series of exciting exclamation point). Although the director has not stated the singer's role, he could not help but share the good news to everyone and added: "I'm Sooo excited!!!"

According to a Rolling Stone report, aside from her gal-pal Delevingne, RiRi will join other film stars like "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" star Dane Dehan and "Closer" star Clive Owen.

While the 27-year-old black beauty has mainly made her name in Hollywood's music business, Rihanna has also explored the other side of Hollywood by booking herself into several films as an actress. She was first filmed for a movie in 2012 for an appearance in movies like "Battleship," "This Is the End" in 2013 and "Annie" in 2014. The latest time she had been into a film was this year when she starred in the animated film, "Home."

RiRi's gal-pal, on the other hand, Delevingne, has made her way gracefully into the film industry while she juggles her schedule as a model. The 23-year-old supermodel has fostered her acting craft through the years starting in 2012 when she starred in Leo Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina." After her reprisal as Princess Sorokina from the Russian novel, roles overflowed for the model in succeeding years. She starred in "The Face of an Angel" in 2014, "Paper Towns," "Pan," "Kids in Love," "Tulip Fever" and "London Fields" in 2015, and "Suicide Squad" to be released in 2016.

People reports that "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" will tell a time-travelling story. Set in the 28th century, the movie adapted from Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres' graphic novel tells the story of DeHaan as a time-travelling agent and will be accompanied by Delevingne's character, Laureline, for a galactic empire investigation.

The production of the movie will commence next year in January in France and is expected to be released on July 21, 2017.
