A brand new HTC smartphone has emerged in the mid-range market: the HTC One M9e.

According to a report from Phone Arena, this newly launched model is a reconfigured design of the HTC One M9. After the unveiling of the company's premium handset, One A9 comes the One M9e, which is a nod to its well-known model.

Chinese online retailer TMall led the announcement of the HTC One M9e, according to a report from G for Games. The smartphone is packed well with features that should intrigue HTC fans including a 5-inch screen that has a 1080p resolution.

The HTC One M9e is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6795T octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. It's equipped with a 13-megapixel resolution rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and optical image stabilization while the UltraPixel front camera has a f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording capabilities.

Storage capacity is measured at 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, with the option of expanding it to 2TB via a micro-SD card. Other notable features include a 2,840 mAh battery, Android 5.0 Lollipop with an HTC Sense design, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac.

The HTC One M9e is priced in TMall at ¥2,699 or roughly $425, but a report from GSM Arena said that the TMall launch might mean it will not be sold in the country.

Whether this new model will be available or not, there are plenty of HTC smartphones that are making waves in the market right now.

The HTC One A9 is one handset that is a good choice for fans of the iPhone 6s aesthetic as it features a similar design to the Apple phone. The similarity has been noticed by many critics that HTC has addressed it recently, according to a report from Want China Times.

"We're not copying," HTC North Asia president Jack Tong said during the Taiwan launch of the One A9. "We made a uni-body metal-clad phone in 2013. It's Apple that copies us in terms of the antenna design on the back."

A report from Tech News Today listed the device's other features including a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels, Octa-Core 1.5GHz Cortex A53 CPU and a Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 610 chipset. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a 2,150 mAh battery and is priced at $400.

The high-end HTC One M9 is more expensive with a $650 price point, according to the same report. Some notable details include a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 as well as a quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810. Battery capacity is a stronger at 2,840 mAh. It has the same display size and resolution as the One A9 while running on the older Android 5.0 Lollipop, but HTC has said that it will soon be upgradeable to the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
