On Thursday's episode of “Scandal,” titled “Get Out of Jail, Free,” Olivia (Kerry Washington) has found a loop hole in her current legal dilemma, which could save her from perjury and perhaps even save President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) from impeachment.

As teaser for Episode 6 of Season 5 shows Olivia discussing her options with her lawyer pal in the president’s bedroom.

“If I marry Fitz, I won’t have to testify,” says Olivia, who then considers a darker plan, adding, “If I go before that committee and testify, I am going to lie.”

Her friend, of course, thinks that lying would be a terrible mistake, but Olivia seems to have made up her mind, saying, “I am going to lie, I am going to perjure myself because otherwise Fitz will be impeached and I love him too much to let that happen.”

Washington recently spoke about how, despite all the fame and fortune that comes along with being on a hit prime time drama, the real treat is having a boss as wonderful as Shonda Rhimes.

As quoted in The Huffington Post , Washington said, "One of the most amazing things about my job is that I have arguably, maybe not even arguably -- definitively -- the best boss on the planet. Shonda Rhimes is… the best."

For the 38-year-old actress, the greatest thing about her boss is how open and frank she is with her cast.

"She’s just so honest and so generous and so supportive, but really when I come to her she will always say to me, ‘Just tell me the truth, just be honest,’” Washington added. “No matter what that honesty is, she can hear it and process it and metabolize it and present you with her truth in a way that’s helpful."

“Scandal” airs on Thusrday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
