Jennifer Lawrence Dead? Most Famous Victims of Death Hoaxes
Fake news of the Hunger Games star allegedly passing away Saturday caused shock among J-Law fans but the actress is not alone in a string of celebrity death hoaxes. Here are other equally famous celebs who were erroneously proclaimed dead.
Justin Timberlake
JT was rumored to have died in a Global Associated News report which said that the crooner passed away due to a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was even allegedly proclaimed dead on the scene, according to the fake website.
Celine Dion
The singer reportedly had to call her parents and family to tell them that she was alive and well, reports Digital Spy. "Sometimes it's freaky because I have to call my family about it. I was celebrating the birthday of my twins in Montreal and I was getting these phone calls saying there was stuff on Facebook that I was dead," she told the outlet. According to the false claims, the singer allegedly died in a car crash and another claimed in a plane crash.
Justin Bieber
Beliebers scrambled on Twitter earlier this year, after a Twitter account posted, "R.I.P. Justin Bieber, died crashing his Ferrari going 125 mph. 1994-2014," reports Hollywood Life. The tweet was actually designed for prank as the image attachment read: "RT to scare some girls."
Brian Eric Bonsall
The former child actor who has appeared in several films and in NBC's Family Ties has also been rumored to have died, notes CNN. After allegedly passing away due to drug overdose, he tweeted, "Well apparently i'm dead, lol but I'll have you know I'm doing well and enjoying a cup of coffee at home."
Wayne Knight
The most recent victim, who was reportedly killed in a car crash on Route 446 in Pennsylvania according to a fake news report as cited by CNN, took the death hoax rather lightly. The actor-comedian tweeted, "Some of you will be glad to hear this, others strangely disappointed, but....I am alive and well!" He later added, "Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez! Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn't know you cared. Glad to be breathing!"
