One Plus X: One Sleek Mobile Phone at a Reasonable Price
Smartphones don't have to be expensive in order to be considered competitive, and this might just be One Plus' idea when they released their latest mid-range phone, the One Plus X.
According to TechRadar, for the price of $200, you can get a hold of the latest One Plus X mobile phone. The One Plus X is fully equipped with a five-inch full HD display with 3GB of RAM. The mid-range phone also boasts a 13-megapixel primary camera and a good eight-megapixel snapper on the front side. The One Plus X is backed up by the Snapdragon 801 processor.
Also, design-wise, the One Plus X will not be left out as it resembles the design of an iPhone 4.
True to its significant resemblance to the iPhone 4, the One Plus X device has a metal frame that surrounds the sides of the phone. The metal frame has also been improved with a grip rather than the conventional glass that tends to be slippery. The dual SIM feature of the device can highly be considered practical, but in instances where you don't actually need SIM cards, you can use the other slot for your microSD and increase the capacity of your internal storage.
The new One Plus X carries the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. The said device also came out of the box with minimal pre-installed apps, making it very efficient for 3GB of RAM.
Featured on the Verge, Carl Pei of OnePlus explains that while the company may never create a smartphone as low as $100, they also believe that a good quality smartphone shouldn't also be too expensive. Considering the benchmark on creating a smartphone, an incredibly low price may not be able to compensate the cost of materials used in the manufacturing of the device.
OnePlus believes that there are several users who are willing to go the other way and buy something cheaper without compromising its quality performance.
The One Plus X will eventually be called Onyx. Before the holiday season starts, customers can expect a ceramic version of the said phone. It won't hold any other interesting features other than its unique design and price. And just like the previous handsets released by OnePlus, a consumer may need to be invited in order to get a hand of the OnePlus X mobile phone.
OnePlus X may have finally announced its arrival on the market, but OnePlus has not released any specific date for it yet.
