AMC has done it again with yet another comic book adaptation -- this time, the series is called "Preacher" and will have a supernatural element to it as opposed to their flagship zombie theme.

According to Collider, "Preacher" is about a man named Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), who is a conflicted preacher living in a small Texas town. His challenges lie ahead of him not just with faith, but with the supernatural as the plague starts to arise. But he takes on a super power when his body merges with a creature that apparently dropped from Heaven. That super power is actually the ability to tell people or things to do things, and they must obey his commands.

He is joined in the series by an ex-girlfriend named Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

Others actors in the series include Jamie Anne Allman, Lucy Griffiths, Euphrates "Tee" Arthur, W. Earl Brown, Thomas Barbusca and Ian Colletti.

As Collider points out, the series teaser shows fans just enough to realize all too well that they will be featuring enough violence, gore and horror that AMC is so well-known to allow on their network, that it is no doubt going to stir up some interest. That, of course, is what led to "The Walking Dead's" ratings dominance, being the No. 1 show on television.

What is also unique about this show is that it hails from executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who are perhaps most well-known for their gritty comedy films like "This Is the End" and "The Interview." Rogen told Collider that he and Goldberg have an excellent working relationship with the network, given they are letting the two run the show as they see fit.

Fans of horror shows like "The Walking Dead" will also get a dose of the full trailer this weekend when it premieres during Sunday's episode of "TWD."
