With the NFL trade deadline looming, rumors are floating around the league like wildfire. ESPN recently released their trade proposals that they believe could happen in the next few days. Some may happen, but others may appear to be impossible. I'm going to break them down here and judge the probability of those trade proposals.

Calvin Johnson to Patriots

This would be something wouldn't it? Calvin Johnson isn't the incredible wide receiver he once was, but he's still one of the best in the game. This reminds people of when Bill Belichick added Randy Moss to the roster in 2007, only we have a few problems here. One, Johnson still has five years and $100 million in cap hits remaining. Moss only had two years and $20 million left on his contract. Pretty big difference huh?

The Patriots don't need huge upgrades to their quarterbacks targets as Robert Gronkowski, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman and Brandon LaFell will do just fine. The Patriots need cornerback and offensive line help. The odds of this trade happening are less than one percent.

Drew Brees to Jets

Wow. Drew Brees is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in the NFL, and the New York Jets are always in search of a quarterback. The Saints have huge financial issues, which is why they traded away Jimmy Graham to save salary cap space. Brees will count $30 million against the Saints cap next year, and then he is an unrestricted free agent.

In all honesty, this trade actually makes sense for numerous reasons. One, the Jets would obviously benefit big time from adding Brees, and the two teams play in separate conferences anyway. Brees has done so much for the Saints, but there's no guarantee he will re-sign with them after next season. It may be wise to trade him now and get value while you still can. The Saints play in an NFC South division where they aren't even the second best team.

It's unlikely to happen, but theoretically, it does make sense.

Jay Cutler to Redskins

Another big name quarterback on the move? Jay Cutler is a good quarterback, but his days in the Windy City could be numbered. Fans there are ready to move on from him, and management may be ready to do the same. The Washington Redskins, like the Jets, are another franchise that has had huge quarterback issue in the 21st century. Don't fall for the Kirk Cousins hype; he's still Kirk Cousins.

Okay, so let's break this ESPN trade proposal down. This all depends on one thing and two people. Daniel Snyder's decision on Robert Griffin III. If the Redskins decide to keep Griffin on the 2016 roster, they owe him $16 million which would make this absolutely impossible. The Redskins would have to cut Griffin for this to happen. Would Snyder do that to his precious No. 2 overall pick? Cutler still has five years and $91 million of cap hits left on his contract. That's a lot of money to take in on just one player.

The Redskins would get an improved quarterback, but lose a ton of money as the Bears would save a lot of cap space for the future. There's just too many things that have to occur in this one. More than likely, it won't happen.

J.J. Watt to Packers

Could the best defensive player in the NFL be on the move? J.J. Watt is one of a kind, but the reality is, he's not really having much of an impact on the Houston Texans. The Texans defense ranks 28th overall in points allowed, and they are a mediocre 2-5. Maybe trading away Watt for massive amount of draft picks would be the right way to start the rebuilding process. Ask the Dallas Cowboys who traded away Hershel Walker for eight draft picks and five players.

Right idea, wrong team. The Packers don't need Watt, or his enormous contract. The Packers have the No. 1 defense in the entire NFL as far as points allowed. Why would they invest more than $100 million in a defensive player? The Packers aren't known for making huge blockbuster deals or free agent signings as they are one of the best drafting teams in the league.

This one isn't going to happen.
