'The Voice' Season 9 Spoilers: Knockout Rounds Heat Up, Rihanna Continues to Sizzle as Special Mentor
Morgan Frazier and Darius Scott squared off in the latest Knockout Round of Season 9 of "The Voice" and in the end there were really no losers.
Previously stolen by coach Pharrell Williams, Frazier got things rolling with a rousing and magnificent rendition of "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" that left all four judges on their feet in awe of her talent, the Baltimore Sun reports.
Scott countered with a near flawless performance that left the overflow crowd bobbing their heads in perfect tune with him.
In time, Williams settled on Scott, but fellow judge Blake Shelton was right there to steal Frazier, assuring that both will advance to the next round of the increasingly fierce competition.
Before the night was over, 21-year-old Summer Schappell and 35-year-old Dustin Christensen were eliminated, narrowing the field of remaining contestants to just 20.
As much as any of the competitors, all eyes were on newly installed special mentor Rihanna, who continues to turns heads with her "high energy and honest advice" in dealing with all the would be stars.
Even as she shared with Williams she has always had a hard time accepting all the praise and adulation that regularly comes her way, the "Diamonds" singer continues to earn even moreof it from all the coaches based on the way she is instantly helping to shape their artists.
"Rihanna is incredible," Judge Adam Levine previously gushed. "I absolutely adore her."
Just this week reports began circulating that the 27-year-old sultry singer has inked a $25 million sponsorship deal with Samsung to coincide with the upcoming release of her eighth album.
Samsung is rumoured to be hoping to use Rihanna's music and videos to help promote its streaming service, Milk Music productions and Galaxy phone lines.
