One Direction Break Up 2014: Westlife's Kian Egan Thinks 1D Will Split; 'They Don't Have a Tight Bond'
Ex-boyband member Kian Egan comments on one of today's hottest boybands and he thinks that 1D might be heading for a split.
The Irish Examiner reports that Kian made the comment in an interview with The Sun Newspaper. "One Direction would be fools to throw it away, absolute fools - and I get the feeling they will," the ex-Westlife member reportedly said in the interview.
"I watch them and they don't seem to have this bond as tight as we had in Westlife - especially as they've only been together three or four years," Kian added.
1D members Niall Horan and Liam Payne earlier confirmed that the 1D boys haven't seen much of each other after the December hiatus.
Nialler took to Twitter to reveal that it's been a while, tweeting "First time we have all been together for a while now! lookin forward t seeing the lads ! #BRITs2014"
Liam Payne also reportedly said that the BRIT Awards was the first time they've seen each other in about three months, says Metro.
But Directioners should not be sad just yet as ex-Westlife member Kian also said that mutual respect between members helps keep the band together. Westlife, which was once deemed as the hottest boyband in the UK, split in 2012 after 14 years in the music scene. The split came long after Brian McFadden pursued a solo career.
"As we always said in Westlife, 'There's not one person in a band that's bigger than the band.'" Kian said in the newspaper interview.
"Respect each other and understand that it's a unit, it's not a bunch of individuals wanting to do what they want to do," he added.
One Direction is set to start their Where We Are world tour April 25 and contrary to 1D gossip, the band is not splitting up. In fact, the band insists that Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan will be together for years to come, reports The Sun.
